Obituary for Queen Esther Price

Queen Esther Price affectionately called “Sissy” by family and friends was born on October 19, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Queen Esther King and John Henry King II . Queen Esther was a life –long resident of Pittsburgh an received her education in the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Queen Esther was a homemaker and through out her life, her commitment was to her children and to serving God. She always put God first in her life and served Him until the day she went home to glory. She was the type of person who did not ask for much, because she knew she was in God’s hands. When she would awake in the morning, she would open her eyes singing and praising God. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Queen Esther was always putting others needs before her own, her genuine love and concern for how everyone else around her was doing was always her main focus. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially painting. Queen Esther also found great pleasure in cooking, baking rolls, cookies, cakes and pies. She was a loving, kind, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.
Peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, Queen Esther transitioned from life on earth to eternal rest. In addition too her parents she was preceded in death by one brother.
Queen Esther leaves to treasure her memory, daughter, Twanda Martia Price, son, Richard Lavaughn Price, daughter-in-law, Qreshunda D. Price; two brothers, one sister and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
